How to Choose, Cleanse and Care For Your Crystal or Gemstone Product
Crystals and gemstones are mostly quite fragile. They can be scratched or broken if not cared for gently. Don't panic if that happens, just like your life, sometimes the scars are the biggest gift and a good reminder of what you have learnt. Basically I recommend treating your crystals like a new inclusion to your household. Give it a nice clean soft bed, some sunshine now and then, a bath from time to time and don't forget to have a good chat and get to know them.
Keep your crystal wands and jewelry in their pouches when not in use or wrap them in silk or velvet. Tumble stones are quite hardy and can be put together in a pouch without any problem but other crystal should be keep separated so as not to damage the surface .Another consideration is that you are protecting your crystals from picking up any negative energies that might be floating around. Of course many crystals are beautiful to display and they serve a great purpose soaking up those negative energies from computer screens, televisions or a challenging visitor. If they are in danger of being damaged, take care - otherwise.. Have Fun!
As with all guests in your home you want them to catch a little sunlight or marvel at the moon from time to time. You can put most crystals out for a sun bathe for a few hours but be careful because some intensify the ray and can start a fire. Check also that the crystal doesn't fade in the sun - Citrine does. A few hours under the rays of a full moon will perk up your crystals too, re energizing and cleansing them.
Programming your crystal
Clear intention is used also to program your crystal. All the crystals sold on this site are cleansed before shipping so you can then program them with a dedicated purpose if you wish. When your new friend arrives you can re-cleanse it and then hold them in your hand and say out loud "I dedicate this crystal to the highest good of all. May it be used in Light and love."
Open to higher guidance and consider the purpose this crystal will be used for. Tune in to your crystal and fell if this crystal is the right one for the purpose. If so say out loud " I program this crystal for (your purpose)".
The crystal can now be carried or crystal pendants can be worn next to the body, placed in a place you will see it often or used for the purpose intended, as with wands. If you feel it necessary repeat the programming several times
Cleansing your Crystals
You can cleanse your crystals by simply running them under a a tap or putting them in the sea or salted water. When you do this, hold the intention that all negativity is being washed away and the crystal is being re-energized and purified with pure white light.
Some crystals can't be put in water, Selenite will actually dissolve. the crystals on this site are all fine in water but check each out individually first. .
Crystals such as and Citrine are self cleaning and others such as Carnelian and Clear Quartz can cleanse other crystals if you put them together. This is a good way of dealing with crystals that don't like the water. The cleansing stones may need to be cleanse themselves after use.
There are many ways to cleanse crystals but holding a clear intention is a great start.
Choosing a Crystal
You can choose a crystal for a specific purpose or let your intuition be your guide. I understand that you can't actually place the crystals on this site in your hands so I have attempted to display the pieces as clearly and as detailed as possible. If a certain piece attracts you its a pretty good indication - trust yourself. Follow your instinct. |
